Heyas,

I am thinking about a new rig and was wondering which config would be recomended? I'm going to be running mainly Soft/XSI, Max and After Effects. There isn't a particular area in 3D that I do more because I work in a post-house and I pretty do every type from time to time.

Dual Xeons 2.4Ghz
1.5/2Gb Ram
Quadro4 750XGL

or

Dual Xeon 2.8Ghz
1Gb Ram
Quadro4 900XGL

Since you can allways add ram later I would get the better card and processor

Sorry, forgot to mention that I wouldnt be able to do an upgrade till wayyyyyyy much later. Maybe in 2years time when it prolly wouldnt be much of a point anyways.

So, it pretty much has to be right the first time round.

Okay well then get the extra ram.. although 1gb is pretty much enough but it's nice to have 2gb so that you can keep two large programs open all the time. Although in a year 1gb of ram will probably cost less than a hundred dollars...
