Very cool I will try and throw together an entry.

one little thing, I think the word you are looking for is Prize with a Z if you use price its like you are asking them to pay.

anyway this looks to be very fun.

Somebody asked for his rights on some things in the postforum. Here is my answer (including statement of the question):

> The contest looks interesting, but I have a problem with
> sending my C4D files and textures, which basically means
> giving away my models.

It is guaranteed that none of the c4d files, the included objects or textures will ever be used for any other purpose than verifying the authenticity of your entry.

It is furthermore guaranteed that none of the entries (includes objects, textures and everything belonging to the entry, also includes your personal information) will ever be used for any other purpose than verifying the authenticity of your entry, to send one of the prizes to you via postal shipment (if necessary), to present the final rendering on the contest page and show your name (artist name + website if existent), nor will any entry be given away to third parties without prior agreement of the artist who has sent in the files, textures and picture.

All rights (except the right for www.c4d-lounge.de to show the final rendering, your name and website on c4d lounges site!) stay on the artistīs side. The files, textures and objects remain property of the artist.

If the artist agrees to share his file, objects and textures with all other participants and C4D users (the purpose of this would be that other C4D users could learn from the files and textures! nothing more or less) we would be proud to use our webspace to share them with the c4d community.

If the artist wants to we will destroy/erase all files, textures and personal information after the contest process is finished! The only thing we will keep is the final rendering that we will show on our website (but still crediting the artist!).

> Also, the contest doesn't preclude the
> use of 3rd party textures, and if they are commercials then
> then can't be distributed legally.

If you have legally bought those textures and do own a license agreement for them it shouldnīt be a problem to send them with the scenefile for verification (if I am mistaken here, please correct me somebody who exactly knows how this is handled). Once again, all the objects and textures remain property of the artist!!

And if this shouldnīt be possible for any reason, well, then it is the best reason to create your own textures for this contest!
A contest is mainly to have fun and to learn, and this would be a great opportunity to improve your texturing skills.

Hope that makes things clearer.

what do you exactly mean? There are no categories. It can be a cartoon character up to a photorealistic character.

It only has to be a character in an embarrassing situation ;)

Can one use copyrigted characters e.g Homer Simpson or must one create a new character.

Hi,

this is up to you of course. You can model any character you want. It doesnīt matter if this character already exists or if you create a new one (as long as you are not breaking any copyrights by creating this character and sending it in of course...see copyright notices of the character for this).

But let me put it this way, a newly designed character might have a much better influence than an already existing character. Because also the creativity of the artist/picture is judged. ;)
