View Full Version : drop shadow on several layers at once
nelsonteixeira 02-15-2009, 12:15 AM can I apply shadows on several layers at once so I donīt get additive shadow transparecies and shadows from one layer to over anoher close layer? I just want this selected layers to produce 1 single shadow on the background.

Pre-compose or use an adjustment layer.

Thanx for the quick answer!
I didnīt want to pre-compose... but Iīm about to change my mind otherwise... Iīll end up with too many layers to deal with.
Iīve just learned the adjustment layer... it worked fine for effects like blur and color correction, but not to drop shadow... did I miss ou mess something???

Not sure what you are doing. Works fine for me. perhaps you are using blending modes that obliterate the result. You know, it's being generated, but being immediately absorbed by the blend operations... Or you have a full size layer somewhere inbetween. Naturally this will generate the shadow based on the maximum coverage, i.e. the full size layer so it ends up outside the comp view...
