View Full Version : what will MB 4.5 users have to do to get MB 5?
mefestofel 07-01-2003, 04:36 PM I have a one year license for MB4.5. So my question is: How much would the upgrade to MB5 cost?
Also if i choose not to upgrage will i still have the option of renewing my 4.5 license for a $100? (it seems to me that 4.5PE has more functionality then 5 STD)
So basicly i'm asking if i would have to pay the full $3,495 for upgrating to MB5 Pro.
I have looked all over and haven't found a clear answer anywere.

You have to look harder, the answers are out there :)
Check out the following kaydara forum post:

Or check out any thread with this type of question, it has been covered many times by poor Mr. Besner.
MB 4 PLE is essentially the full "PRO" version with a time-limited license, so it is understandable that it has more functionality than MB 5.0 Standard.

ok maybe i didn't look everywhere, so thanks for those links.
Ok now maybe I'm just thick, but I'm still not clear on how it works. Once you pay the $100 for the perm license you get upgraded to MB 5, right? Now is that Pro or Std edition?
thanks for the help

If you paid $100 for the PE you must pay $100 for the upgrade to MB5-Std.
If you don't, your PE license expires one-year after you registered it.
Most everything in the PE version is in the STD version - except some Mocap tools and SDK.
