Sorry if this has been covered. I did a few searches but couldn't find anything. I have a P4 1.7 ghz 1.5 gigs ram geforce 4 ti 4200 128 megs ram and Maya 4.5. Sometimes when I got back to the hypershader to check textures or tweak them the textures are not showing. I can see my models and if I click on them they have the attributes but I don't see them displayed they look blank. Makes it kinda hard to figure out which is which. Any thoughts???

Thanks!!

Are you talking about seeing the textures on your models in the viewport? Maya has different display levels mapped to hotkeys.
1-3 are display smoothness for Nurbs objects
4 is wireframes
5 is shaded view
6 is preview textures
7 is lights

As for the hypershader, sometimes it doesn't work as well with certian video cards. Yours is not supported by Maya and there will always be little quirky problems. I find that using the Multilister is a little more left-brain organized, but it doesn't show all the connections interactively. It will work with your video card okay though.

check hardware render, see if that is turned on to see it on the models in viewports,

warning, this will slowdown your machine

No, what youngblood97 means is that the interface itself is not showing up the right way. Like you can see the nodes in the hypergraph, butt it will show up blank, so you cannot see the actual texture that that node should hold. I have it also some times. With me it only occurs when i do a lot of work in the hypershade. My sollution is just close Maya and restart.

hey!!:wavey:

this is definately a gfx driver problem.

i have the exact same card and it happens to me all the time. (most annoying thing in the world)

get the new drivers from the Nvidia site.
this should fix the problem .

but i tried to download them yesterday and when i installed them they couldn't install coz they were corrupt

gonna try again today.

hope that helps. ( quick fix until you get the drivers: save work, restart maya)

cheers!!
