Hi I was wondering about human proportions. Whenever I draw 8 headed humans, my proportions are fine but whenever I try a 6 or 7 head proportions they seem too big headed and odd.

Any pros here can help?

Attached here is what I drew with the mouse...

TTYO,

An easier way to think of it is like this:

http://www.rebeccakimmel.com/gallery/albums/Misc/proportions.jpg

The trochanter of the femur is the halfway mark of the standing pose. From the pit of the neck to the crotch is approx. 3 head heights. The knees are about halfway along the length of the standing leg. There is about a 1/2 - 1/3 head height for the neck.

As long as you establish your halfway mark at the beginning and the top and bottom of the figure relative to the halfway mark, and then divide the upper portion of the body by head heights, you're golden.

Hi there, I've moved your thread to the Sketchbook area since I think you will get more feedback that way. :)

Do you do any life drawing? I highly recommend taking a life drawing class. Really, there's no substitute for it.
