Is it possible to share instancer with multiple particleShapes?

To better explain myself... I have 8 particle emitters which i want to use particle instancer with.. I created and programed the instacer for the first one which works fine as expected. I am just wondering if it is at all possible to use the same instancer for all 8 emitters or do i need to create a new one for each? I just dont know where to make the connections..

thanks

As far as I know, the instancer's 'inputPoints' can accept only 1 input.
Is there any reason why you are not having all of your emitters linked to that same particle system with the instancer?

You can link as many emitters to one particle shape as you want...
Just go to Window - relationship editors - dynamic relationships... and link them together

following up with the original question is it possible to do this?

Can you pipe the particleShapes into an expression and then have that expression output the inputPoints to an instancer?

I have a setup where a character is applying magic to some ornaments to make them float and fly around. They come to him and whirl around then he directs them to another part of the set. The ornaments are instanced particles and I treat each "event" as a new particle. When the particles hit certain ques they go to the next event. Which just means the spawn a new particle, pass on specific attributes (like position, velocity and instanceID), and then die. It works great, I have a lot of control over the system. BUT I have duplicate instancers for each particle.. the real tedious part is making sure my instanced objects are in the same order on each instancer node.

so yeah.. it would be usefull if I could do that.

When you do open the dynamic relationships window, be prepared to wait a long time if your scene is complex. It may seem like it crashed but it didn't it is just going through everything in your scene and checking for connections.

Some tips:
Do NOT save your scene with that window open unless you want to wait forever each time you open that file.

Remember to close the window after you finished working in it. If you work with it open, as soon as you create new stuff it will lag.

Hope this helps,
James
