as an old brazil user, i have found it hard to acheive a skylight effect with the maya renderers, being the software of mental ray.
by skylight i mean the renderer automatically kind of emits light all throughout the scene, producing a kind of soft effect almost, with soft shadows under the objects becuase the light is coming from everywhere.
i think i've heard people talking about some plugins that will do this, but I don't remember the names of them.
So, in conclusion, is there a way to do this with maya's built in renderers? or do I need a plugin?
thanks for the help, its greatly appreciated. :)
