hey!! :wavey:
i have a few simple questions, so here goes.....

1. is ther a tool that does the same thing as the edge loop tool in max? (drawing loops manually with the split poly tool is getting very tiresome.)Bevel does not do the job.

2. in the uv texture editor, is there a way to snap one uv to another? (using poly's, i know you can move+sew but i saw a tut that told you to snap them in place first. the hotkey they used was V but i have customised that letter and i can't find any snap command to do with uv's in the hotkey editor.)

3. is there a way to make the tool manipulator smaller or so that you can select through it? (it's always getting in the way when i need to select verts, edges, etc)

4. Is there a way to get the split poll tool to automatically snap to 50% as soon as you click the edge? (makes things look much neater but takes forever to get it to snap manually)

well, hope you guys can help me out with a few of those.
cheers!!

1. check out MJPolyTools (http://www.maya3d.dk/Scripts/MJPolyTools/) (some neat edgeloop methods)
2. should work with the usual 'snap on point' command (hotkey: v)
3. you can increase/decrease gizmos by pushing '+'/'-' on your keypad.
4. open up the tool options for the split polygons tool, set the number of snapping magnets to 1 and adjust the tolerance value to your liking.

well, i don't know...maybe you look it up in the manuals or change your hotkey again?! try snapping your UV to the nearest gridpoint (hotkey: x) in question and position it accurately afterwards?

dunno, i'm not too familiar with UVs! good luck...:p

Snap should be under status line.

If you want to find out any hot keys, just type in the letter and click find.

It will take you to the category.
