Hi there,

here is a litle test I'm working on, it's a jump at a box. I'm in blocking pass and before I go ahead with it,
I'd love to get some critiques on that.

Lookes ok dude :) Like the expression on his face as he jumps, but maybe try to give him an expression when hi's done to? He looks just a little "dead". Other then that, I love the motion! Nice work! ;)

pretty solid blocking. theres a little tween with both hands landing on the box at the same time on frame 44.

How do you feel about this?

Hello. It's looking pretty good so far. I'm going to give just a fast critique, what caught my eye immediately. This is the same exact critique I gave you on 11secondclub so if you read that one first already dont bother reading this one :)
I dont know which you check more often.

-I am not a big fan of seeing body parts staying stationary for too long. In the first pose I would have his hand/fingers out a little bit more straighter, like he's just making contact or something(personal choice).
-Next i would have the second pose with the hands be the same as the first pose they're in currently
-Then i have them move(rotate) just a tab bit just to show that weight is being applied.
-From frame 23 to 34, the hand pose are find the way they are, but i would still add just the slightest movement like in the fingers or something.
Be careful trying to do fix still poses because it's easy to make it look too fluidity. But if done right, it'll make your animation look that much more alive and real. Some still poses can be good and/or may be necessary, but in this case I'll try to work with it. Again it's a personal choice. I saw still poses in a few Pixars shorts, so I guess it's nothing to be too concern about as long as it's not too still.

-It seems as though you dont have the shoulders animated enough through out his action. Going up onto a box like that will require a bit of shoulder movement. Frame 15, you should push his shoulders up some more. If you put your arms in that position you will, or should, feel your shoulders scrunching upwards.

-I would have him settling after he get up onto the box

-Frame 83 I would still have his shoulders dragging down some. Maybe even have him straight arm, like its dragging too.

-88 I would have him bring his shoulder and arms up just a little higher than they are now, likes he's taking a breath

-Then return to pose frame 98. Doing this would be just one of the ways you can have him settling. Right now it's like, he goes up onto the box, and thats it...
I'm a skinny boy. Even when i get up from a bent kneed position, something on my upper body settles slightly.
His weight can settle to.

Thats all I can give right now I need to get back to work on my own animation.
