Scott M C4D 07-01-2003, 03:40 AM Hiya,
I geuss we all lose interest sometimes, but i wonder if the problem has to do with the 15" CRT restricting me from getting the most from the 3D experience,
Maybe it's my 3 year old PC thats dragging it's feet.
Maybe i have too little time to learn.
Conflict of intersts with music & 3d creation.
Any ideas to help?
Cheers

I have to say, I loose interests (a lots of them:) ) periodicly. When something like that happens, I just surf the net for inspirations. And competitions are inspirations for me. So, maybe this will help:
find a 3d/industrial design / animation competition and realy try as hard as you can to win. And that should include less sleeping and much more work that usual. At the end, no matter the results, you will be satisfied and you will learn heaps!
I recommend CGChallenge - if you have the time, it will push you no end!
hmm I would recommend cutting all ties with the female species. I havent done this but a lack of girlfriend would help you to do 3D more, due to the obvious lack of distractions.

It also works the other way round: you might actually loose your girlfriend by doing more 3D ;)

Interesting idea JIII, but what do you do when the girlfriend is actually the wife?

Dude!..I am so in the same boat you are. Trying to teach myself C4D, ZBrush, Flash MX, Swift 3D Swish, plus Mastering PS7...then there is the Guitar (acoustic and electric techniques)...man I need to be rich. That way I can stay home and learn (pay to learn) everything I want...I hate working for the man.

Exactly right get her a computer + C4D, That or practice abstanice in marriage.

No women in life, thats another problem.
Working 2-10 is another.
well scott let me tell you. I have just as old a computer as you and just as small a screen. hmm strange I don't open c4d enough. lol no really for me its just being burnt out with so much other stuff I don't want to focus that hard.
So i just avoid it. Which is not great for my 3D but i am not looking for a job or trying to make a living with C4D either.

Howdy,
Don't sweat it. There's plenty of time to do all the things you want to do and your interests will change through the years. At 5, I wanted to be a cowboy. At 15, I wanted to be a rock star. At 25, I wanted to be a painter. At 35, I wanted to be computer artist. At 45, I wanted to be a cowboy. Hmmm, do I detect a pattern of regression here? Or have I just run out of interests?
Oh well. In the words of wisdom I once heard, "Whoa boy. Slow down. Hell, if we don't get to it today, we'll get to it tomorrow."
Adios,
Cactus Dan
Get 4 girlfriend for a period of time. That should give you quite a boost for the future work;) . Without girlfriends ofcourse..
Get in the competition stuff...

Personally I suscribe to Catus Dan'S point of view. Often enough the more I push at something the more frustrating it gets, like trying to learn to speak German as a second language, now there's a killer, after 10 years people still often look at me and say "huh?" when I open my mouth.
