I wanted to post the progress of another illustration i've been working on. I'm trying to get my drawing feet back under me and learn photoshop painting which is very difficult to say the least.
For this particular illustration I've had my friend Jack Zhang (http://jackzhang.cgsociety.org/gallery/) eventually helped me push the image to where it is now strenghtening the composition to make the overall image more interesting.
I started with a simple figure drawing of a man leaping on paper than copied onto photoshop. There is no strong context present in the illustration but the inspiration for this composition comes from the movie Apocalypto (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472043/)
As I progressed, I moved more and more away from a painterly feel to my background. I would love to execute images with that cool "concept art" look that a lot of artists lean towards. My goal is to move away from line-art as well and render my images with shapes and solid colors.

I would love comments and help from anyone willing to offer it.
Cheers.
