I had a few question about facerobot. and didn't know where else to post it.
Does face robot come with XSI advanced? Does it work easily with 3ds max? and finally how much does the damn thing cost as a separate app/plugin.
I can't find any pricing info on the site.

The cost there is very out-dated info.
There are other formulas than straight off purchase too. Only way to know about that is to get in touch with Soft/AD.

As for the app itself, it's a stand-alone built on top of XSI, and it comes on its own.
Blur has used it a lot and they pipe out to max for shading/fx/rendering, so I would assume the bridge is more than decent these days.

I was watching the how to video, and couldn't stop thinking to myself "wow, this is a lot of work."

You still have to carefully rig and weight a face, and even do the animation by hand if you don't have mocap data. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly its value is...
