I know this is after effects, but I didn't know where else to post this!

I was working with premiere fine on vista 64 and now for some reason when I load my file, the clips do not play, my program monitor is just a white screen when I scrub the footage!
When I double click the footage it freezes premiere and I have to end task it....I have tried the premiere 4.0.1 update and updating graphics drivers but didn't help.
Does any1 hav any ideas?

The footage is 720p if this helps....and my system is amd quad core with 8gb ram!

Thx

Sonder!

Probably a codec issue. Where did you get that footage from?

I agree- it sounds like a codec problem. Did everything work properly before, or have you had this problem from the start? If this new problem just started, something must have changed in your system. Try rolling back to an earlier System Restore point. If that doesn't work, you can also try to repair your Premiere installation, or worst case scenario, re-install.

If you've had this problem from the start, you most likely don't have the required codec to see the video. So, like scrimski said, where did your video come from? You might have to search around for a specific codec to work with the material. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies....got the right codec as it was working fine for the first few days.

Even now...I reinstalled CS4....opened file wasn't working....opened premiere again, reset workspace layout, and scrubbed the timeline a bit still nothing....closed down premiere.
Restarted again and it was working fine.....so I undocked the panel like I normally, do and drag to my 20inch secondary monitor.....still working fine, so I save the file.
And just to test it, I save and close, reopen and same problem again!
Premiere timeline displaying frames in timeline sequence....but the program sequence video monitor is just white??????

Any help people?!?!

Thx
