View Full Version : Motionbuilder 5+Wings
Wings is now a supported FBX partner .
They had better release a Freelancer edition for 5 now.
v4 is currently available free for download.
Check it out: HERE (http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72543)

very cool. and i think the rumor was that if you have the freelancer edition of 4 you could upgrade to a permanent license of MB 5 when it came out. don't quote me on that tho :)

Yep! $200 if you downloaded the free version. $100 if you paid $100 for the free version. The price jumps after sometime in December though.

Yeah, but is the Wings3d FBX plugin even close to working yet? Last time I asked about it on the official Wings3d forums, bjorn gave the standard "It'll be finished when it's finished" line.

I just watched a video on Motion Builder on last months issue of "3D World" the so called "3d Buzz videos". It was amazing how easy MB worked and applyed animation to characters.
www.3dbuzz.com has a free online course opening up on Motion Builder, plus tons of free video tutorials on a lot of 3d packages and topics, such a photoshop, and PHP.
I've been working through the Houdini 101 course form 3d Buzz...very interesting approach to learning 3d., but of course when the modeling came up, I shot back over to Wings3D!
I had also read the mention on Kaydara's website about an open wrapper for 3d models FBX, "as used in Wings3D"? I didn't know Wings3d used this, or rather will.
I'm waiting for the licence infomation to come through so I can start playing with MB. + Wing3d!
