View Full Version : 21" Monitor which do you use & reccomend?
PixelVampire 06-30-2003, 09:34 PM I am currently using a 21" HP 1120 monitor with a 17" Sony.
I am quiet happy with it but I am looking to get another 21" CRT monitor to replace the 17".
Which 21" CRT monitor do your guys reccomend for graphic design and 3d work?
I am using NvidiaTi4600 128Mb will it have problem coping with two 21" monitors?

I use a ViewSonic P225f, and I would NOT recommend it. I get weird interference (I tested this same system with a 17' monitor, and it worked fine) and the focus is totally out of whack. Yes, there is a focus adjustment, but you have settle for fuzzy text at either the middle or bottom of the screen (I chose bottom). Terrible, terrible monitor... *grrrr*

I have an Envision plug & play moniter, and for some reason if I go into a game the screen size will shrink about a whole res setting or sometimes 2. Sometimes I just live with it, but if I stretch it to fit the certain game and then exit back to desktop I have to size it down. Any ideas or suggestions....

I'm also searching for 21/22" inchers. From reading some reviews the are always two names mentioned:
Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u
Samsung 1200NF
What dyou guys think? Anyone got them?
And what about Philips Briliance 202P40? I hardly found any review on this one.
Thanks

anything by Samsung...I have a 19" monitor and it's great! And I know that Dell makes a quality monitor, mine's starting its third year of greatness.I would definitely NOT recommend ViewSonic though. i have more than a couple friends who've had problems with them:)

I have the 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u. Very good monitor for the price. The thing I love about it is that its got two inputs for two PCs and there is a handy switch on the front to switch between the two.
But if you want the absolute best then go for the 21" Sony F520.

Go with the samsung. I have just got mine and it is awesome. Lots of features and the everything is crisp and big. I have been warned not to go with the viewsonic as they seem to have a lot being sent back to the manufacture. This is my advice that i pass on to you.

I currently have the Viewsonic and have no problems with it.
Crisp and clear, every bit as good as my 19" was.

I find EIZO to be extra sharp (T965) compared to a sony FW900 side by side. Eizo uses a Sony tube. It also has a warmer color balance that can not be adjusted out. EIZO is a much smaller company. If you ever need to have a monitor fixed, like I did, you will talk to with the same real person for warranty support. It's one person who handles this (L.A. headquarters.) The eizo weighs 79.4 lbs the sony g520 67.4 lbs. The spec's show that they probably share tubes, but have different electronics.

we use the sony 21" trinitrons (flat-screen CRT) that come with dell systems. they're very nice, and rarely have problems. controls are good (you can tweak almost anything), and image quailty is superb.
i hear the 22" mitsubishis are nice for their price also, but i haven't personally used one.

I haven't heard of some of these models, but their prices are pretty low. Does anyone have one of these monitors?
