Mirror with splash stains

I'd take a white piece of paper and rub it in the dirt (like from your garden). Then scan the results. Or if you really want a "splatter" sorta look, try black acrylic paint watered down on a brush, then swat the brush at a piece of white paper, then scan that. Not only will it get you what you want, it'll also be a lot of fun to do :)
