Hello. I'm completely new to zbrush and really excited to get into it.

Just a quick question....

If I create a head for a character in zbrush using zspheres and then sculpt and texture it within the program, does it keep all the correct uv's when exporting to maya? I'm trying to work out whether i can work almost completely in zbrush or whether I need to make a primitive in maya first, create a uv layout, export etc. Many thanks for any help.

Tris

p.s the head is being made with morph targets in mind.

not sure if maya supports the UV-options zbrush has, but if it doesn't the workflow could still be very much in zbrush. you can make your basemodel from zspheres, sculpt it, use zbrushs retopo-tools to make a nicer flowing mesh for animation, export it to maya or whatever to do the UVs and reimport it to do whatever is left to be done in zbrush.

Ah I see. I probably wont take the risk then and stick to creating the base mesh in maya first. Thanks for the reply! :)
