View Full Version : Applying filters to multiple images...
Mr_Lunchbox 06-30-2003, 07:09 PM I have a neat concept I've been rolling around in my head, but it seems too difficult ('difficult' meaning tedius) for there to not be another way. Is there a way to make Photoshop or something apply a filter to like, an AVI file? Y'know, each individual frame for me, so I don't have to do it myself. 'Cuz 30 a second, for 60 seconds... tedium. Anyone know how to do what I want to do?
 Thanks.
PS - I just noticed that those two dudes clink their beers with the rhythm of "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails. Coincidence? Probably.

You have the option to create an action in photoshop and it will apply that action to a folder of images.

can someone make a sticky for questions like these? I've seen way too many of these "automation" procedure questions.

Photoshop and AVI don't like each other. :D
If you want to add some effect to each frame you would be better of with AfterEffects. If you don't have it then you could use a mixture of bunch of programs which will export each frame for you and then you could add whatever you need to that frame in Photoshop and then make a video file again with help of another program.
ImageReady can open AVI files. But opening a file with 3000+ frames, exporting each frame, editing them, making video file will take way too much time. That's what programs like AfterEffects and Premiere are for.
Edit: but if you already have all those exported frames, then Photoshop actions would do the job as already was mentioned.

I was thinking about what Premiere could do for me. I couldn't get Premiere to work for me for the longest time, but I did recently reformat. So maybe I should try grabbing it again.
Thanks for all the help!
