Nice reel Brian!

The Hobbes rig has some really nice features!
It would be great to see the facial setup applied on a higher res head mesh.

Also, great website!

Nice python RMC Marking Menus! :)
Can you please share a little on its pros/cons against the MEL MMs?

:curious: I think your text descriptions are too long ( too much text ) they take time to read ( and the time we waste reading we are not looking at your rig ).

:curious: I think that the Facial UI need to have more visibility, ( maybe have a darker green ? ), also, 5 slidders per eyelid is a lot of controls to animate just to get a basic eyelid shape, I'm sure you can find a better way to do this.

:curious: I really don't like the ''walk-cycle-like animation'' of the Ferret rig, it looks like you tryed to do a walking animation, ( for instance, the ''rig-testing-animations'' that you show right after are ok because they are obiviosly there to show deformations : ex : 2.35 - 2.40 is ok but 2.30 to 2.33 can hurt your reel ). Since the rigs are Animation tools, if you let the viewer think that you don't understand the animation principles it might hurt.

:wise: Short intro, clean presentation, overall good rigs : nice !

Keep up the good work.

Can you please share a little on its pros/cons against the MEL MMs?

Pro: Animator does not have to hold any additional button to enable the MM. Makes for faster use of the features.

Con: RMC over a curve for editing purpose does not work anymore. Have to set the dagMenuProc back to its original settings.

I think your text descriptions are too long ( too much text ) they take time to read ( and the time we waste reading we are not looking at your rig ).

I agree the text is a bit wordy. I need to find a better balance between the reel and the text. So, the viewer knows what is going on. Not all viewers will know what is happening so I was trying to appease them, so I was clear as possible which made it lengthy.

I think that the Facial UI need to have more visibility, ( maybe have a darker green ? ), also, 5 slidders per eyelid is a lot of controls to animate just to get a basic eyelid shape, I'm sure you can find a better way to do this.

The far left and right control of the eyelid has so little impact on the eye already. Could multiple the far controls based of the control next to it to make the various eyelid shapes.

I really don't like the ''walk-cycle-like animation'' of the Ferret rig...
Huh, never intended for the ferret's animation to mimic the start of a walk cycle. Was demonstrating the dynamics of the boot cuff. I do see your point on how it can have an negative effect.

Short intro, clean presentation, overall good rigs : nice !Thanks

Wow, this is some really solid work. I can see why you needed all of the text because it is obvious that it would be easy to miss all of that. It is defnitely the kind of reel that you stop a lot, but I am figuring that you planned that.

Maybe an audio track commentary to go along with it would alleviate the need for long descriptions so that you can keep the text on screen shorter. But I do think the descriptions are needed.

Also, are you going to make Calvin? I mean Hobbes is so cute and it would compliment him nicely. And I'd like to see what you'd do with the rig. :)

I'm agree with EricDLegare. You have a lot of good works.Content is very important of course, but so is presentation.Personally I think this is a good presentation of a rigging reel. Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxusrZiYzbw)

Audio commentary would work to get the point across. I will look into how well my voice sounds digitize. Perhaps I can look into also small blurbs of text like Victor Vinyals' reel (cristis' link)... thinking pop up video back in the days of MTV.

I do have a model of Calvin that needs to be rigged still. Was thinking of using cloth... which will need to work with the toon style so I may have to go for more of a traditional rig.
