CGTalk - fluids and fields ?

Hello cgtalkers.

Call me stupid, but I can't seem to apply fields to fluids. Have I missed the point totally because it is impossible or am I simply doing things wrong (my fluidshape is ok, set to dynamic grids in every aspects and the 'fields' checkbox is ticked.

I know there are predefined effects (turbulence, wind/wake) but I'm look to do things my own way.

I know fluids can affect particles but that's not what I'm after

I'm using maya 2008 and 8.5

Try setting the magnitude of your fields to something real high and see if that works. As far as I can remember the values need to be much higher than for particles.

Are you sure you connected the fluid and the filed?

You can check this using the "Dynamic Relationships" Editor (Window -> Relationship Editors -> Dynamic Relationships).
