Is there anyway to shut the lighting off in the viewport in Max?

I know in other 3D packages you can change your display settings, but I have not been able to find a way to display my viewports (with lights in the scenes) but without the lighting affecting my geometry.

It's a pain when your trying to work on materials and lighting at the same time, I always have to make a seperate file and merge the lights from the lighting file into the material file.

Ctrl+l. Though I don't know how to make this constant as it resets after you change th viewport. Maybe try disabling the viewport then (d).
