Hey there, this thread is to post my experiments and wips of My works in 2D, regards..
I usually delete the posts that I don't find interesting or are older, that to have an order in my Sketchbooks, so don't worry about it cause I'm updating my works frecuently in both 2D and 3D to have a better portfolio.
About me...I'm David Reyes, recently graduated as Graphic Designer in 2008, I work mostly in 3D with XSI/Blender and in 2D with Painter and PS.

I change my account from photobucket to picassa, so some links or images could not appear sometimes, also I usually broke the old links or works to get speed in the connection,

I like what you have going on here, very classic looking. my only problems are this. It seems as though you are sketching your figures and/or putting them in a proper space. The colors seem to be a bit hazey, muddy, and ran together so you tend to lose your focal point to your background. Try sharpening your illustrations a bit more with details and colors that'll make it pop. You're off to a good start. Keep it rockin.

Gary: many thanks for dropping by,. :)
Sure that I want to be finishing these ideas but I don't know if that is permited here, because my idea is make more slow and detailed illustrations-paintings as you said but here is speedpaintings-sketchs,,so I have to find the correct forum to do that.
Thanks again! BTW I like your concepts well defined style!, I'll be there dropping by...cheers.

Hi David, you have some interesting concepts in here! You might want to also experiment with brushes that have harder edges (or try less blending) to sharpen up your paintings a bit. Painter is a great program, with a ridiculous amount of interesting brushes to try. I've the acrylic wet detail brush is my favourite currently. Keep experimenting!

Aviva: Thank you so much for the feedback.
You and Gary have reason with the sugestions and advises, this year is my first attempt to work in Painter, I've been a bit lazy to do something serious in this, but is time to starting to do it, I'll be playing more with this because finally I found that is something that I like to do, Regards.

It's going the right way :) Your images still lack sharpness but colors are looking good. The lady from your 08-12-09 post (with flowers) looked better value-wise before updating- present version has too much black and near-black greys in it.

SebastianZ: thank you the comment, I agree  with it!.
For now I'm changing all the concept for this personal work, also now I changed the face since this was one overpaint or "Photomanipulation", but after read the topic of Robert Chang here (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=166&t=461830) about the use of references,...I did my own face with the reference but the face changed a lot to me and now doesn't look like the original ref (I'll be posting it later).
About Hard Brushes is the last thing which I usually work with, sometimes.
