This is a speedpaint I did for my buddy on deviantART Omega. (http://ddoom3099.deviantart.com/)
I know there's a bit of anatomy issues. But as far as stylization, costume color and lighting go, what could be better?
Since the image keeps getting stretched please view it here (http://jcartist.deviantart.com/art/Omega-110075535).

OK, I won't mention the anatomy. You do need to fix it though :-)
It's a cool costume - I quite like it - it is distinctive but not gaudy.
Your lighting is off. For example there is the blue light from the left that lights his neck but not his face. And it's not too clear if the main light is from the front or side. Any light that would give you such a glaring white on a costume should also give signifigant highlights on the green as well.
My best advice? Grab a camera and take a few shots of yourself or a friend in that pose. Don't use a flash. Find a spot where the light is coming from the direction you want. Also, figure out what kind of material he's wearing (wool? spandex?) and Google a few reference pics so you can see how the light hits it. This will answer most of your questions.
Actually, using reference photos will answer most questions that start with "Is this right?"
Hope that helps
