Hi everyone! :wavey: I've been lurking here for a while and have now decided to bite the metaphorical bullet and start posting. Extremely impressed by everyone's skils, hopefully one day I'll be up there with you lot!

Here's my first attempt at modelling a racing car. It's modelled with 3D Max 5, without any blueprints. It started off as a single box that I extruded from using edit mesh. I pretty much made it up as I went along, with a bit of inspiration from the Le Mans racing cars!

Here's the car without meshsmooth:

And here's a couple of renders with meshsmooth:

Hi, looks like you've got decent skills with edit mesh stuffs,

but your smoothed model looks too round overall.

Try reading this tutorial by Munkmotion if you haven't already,

it'll help you a lot IMO.

Good luck! :buttrock:

hi,
it's to smooth,yes..
you should add some more polys and were it should not be so smooth (argh my english :p ) it might be good, when you chamfer edges..

do you work after blueprints?
when not, suurland.com and onnovanbraam.com are great ressources

bye
