Title: Snow White
Name: Sikko Valk
Country: Netherlands
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Hi everybody,

This was a personal project of mine, I wanted to create a classic fairytale character, but instead of the classic look, make it more modern.
(For higher resolution ‘close ups’ and a step-by-step, please take a look at the links below.)
I hope you like it!?!

Comments and/or critics are more than welcome!..

---
The litlle accompanying story:

Snow White, born, from the blood and dying wish of her loving Queen mother, in the virgin white snow. With silky white skin, hair black as ebony, and lips red as blood.

Poisoned at the age of only seven by her new stepmother, envious as she was of her stunning beauty, the young princess is doomed to grow up, presumed dead and unaware of her surroundings, in her glass resting place.

Time passes and the red from her lips have already faded, her skin a bit bronzed by the years of sun shining through the glass, and it will not take long before the blush on her cheeks will also vanish. Where is the prince of her destiny..

Will she be saved in time?

Nice values and good rendation of the folds of the cloths. the light blush and red ribbon are a nice touch to compliment the apple. her arms look a little plastic compared to most fo the rest of her skin tones (they don't have as much variation to their values like the rest does). Cool piece though.

Nice rendering i love the hair, but her feet looks flat, try to add some shade where they meet each other to make them a bit rounder :)

Some more info that got lost..
Set-up and basic coloring in Painter, detailing and textures in PS. Original resolution about 3500*4900
Ref. used for the face: I was hugely inspired by an amazing photograph of 'Yvonne_Beauty_by_LASMN'. When I saw it I knew this was how Snow White should look like. (http://lasmn.deviantart.com/art/Yvonne-Beauty-59178707 (http://lasmn.deviantart.com/art/Yvonne-Beauty-59178707))

Thanks for viewing!

Thanks a lot guys for your comments!! Much appreciated!

About the bottom of the legs: I indeed have to take another look at them.. at first I wanted to put in a hint of sketchyness, but as you pointed out, it didn't quite work:)
I'll also take another look at the other comments, thanks again!
