here's a render in the middle of texturing.

this is taking a long time for me.
since I haven't practiced texturing enough.

C&C please. :)

the eyes are just alittle bit high. well, i guess, i don't have the reference. but they are disturbing me. also, the neck is too short and too narrow.

hey, thnx.

in fact, the eyes for now is not textured.
I just put simbiontmax eye shader for now.

;)

have a good day~

wow trully likeness on your model!!! I like to point something out, i think angelina's eye is a little less deep inside the face, on a side view of her u might see that!!

but anyway, its looking great!!

Thank you, Russell.

:) You just pointed out the exact spot I don't like about this model.

The reference image I used for this one was a bit off angle(side view). In fact, it's not her eyes, but her nose and forehead part that have a problem.

I found that out after I put a lot of detail, so I just chose to leave it this time.

Maybe with next model, I'll be much more careful.

Thanks again.

Have a nice day.

Wow! The likeness is incredible, i dont know Angelina that well to actually point out more "errors", but to me it already looks great!
Cant wait to see it fully finished! Are u going for a photorealistic model?

show us a profile if you can. here's a good reference. your eyes are too big. seems the mouth is a little too big for the size of your head. we can tell much more though with a profile.. so come on! =)

thnx guys.

hey, d8ed, the top one is what I used.
and as you can see... the side view is a bit off angle.
:hmm:

and...FYI, I'm not that big fan of her, eigher. lol
One of my friends asked me if I could make a spline modeling tutorial, so I just found that photo from the site, and started modeling.

I've found that perspective view does that oversize-look of nose and mouth. in fact, the model(both size/shape) is pretty close to the photo I used. You got good eyes, D8ed.

Xeno: For modeling, I did try to get realistic. but for the texture, I didn't, well 'I am not capable' would be more appropriate. But as more time I spend on it.... I gradually see it coming better than I thought. :)

again, thank you all.

heh yeah.. and they all use the same photo for a side. =)

i'm VERY fond of her.. ever since i saw her in Hackers back in the day. leather wearing hacker chick that rides motorcycles. she's a bit weird in real life with the blood vial she wore on her neck and all that other weird shit.. but she likes knives. that makes her hot as hell in my book.

can't believe she's related to Jon Voight. eek.

alright now where's that side view? =)

hey buddy. i hope you finish the whole thing. because i want the mesh. its like really having her there. very good. stuff.

hey, d8ed, well, she's got something hot for sure. ;)

I kinda liked her character in Gone in 60 secs...

I also heard she's very wierd in real life. lol

She wanted to be a funeral director when she was a little kid...

For the new tombraider movie...
I think, I can wait till the dvd comes out....

texturing is going very slow; but I'm learning a lot.

here's another version... this is slightly different from previous one.

I removed the simbiont eye shader that I put temporarily before.

and changed some photoshop settings...etc.

VERY NICE!

One notice which many many artists make... ears, kinda thin, dont you think so?! Try some more on the ears, I did....

A few months ago I started modelin Angelina too, but I was busy doing other things so I didn'e finish it, soon I'll continue... so beaware, my ears are better... Kidding :)

Good work

hello, milosp.

yeah, I agree. in fact this is my second ear, and I kinda don't like the front view of it. the side view is better.

I find working on ears bothering a lot because I have to keep thinking about how to attatch to the head while modeling.

Let me see your Angelina jolly. :)

Excellent head. Are you in the making of a body too? =)

thnx, premutos.

modeling her body?
not for a while I guess. :(

good day~

looks good....but it looks kinda wide to me....doesn´t have those feminin lines of the face..looks more masculine..especially the cheekbones and the chin...

Levitateme

wow you modeled angelina, looks just like her. more texture work i think though.

Ckretone

Awsome work dude, what software are you using, and how long did the model take for u to do..how long have ya been modeling as well.....ahh what else oh yeah oh yeah i can ya tell me how you layed your uvs out?

neversong
07-07-2003, 02:08 AM
thnx guys. :)

swirly-chicken: I agree with what you said. I think, I need more learning about feminin properties of face/body...
However, at the same time, Angelina Jolie kinda has that masculine lines around her face as I've observed. dont' you think?

Levitateme: Yeap. :) I need more time to learn/practice texturing. This was my second time to unwrap/texture a head.

CKretone: I'm using 3DSMAX5.1. and it took me about two day... maybe... 6~8 hours of work... don't really know. I was just taking my time putting details... having fun. ;)

and I used tex layer for the unwrap. saved me some time.

thank you again,
good day~~

Here is my Angelina, this is the last rendering Ive made a 1/2 year ago, I'll finish her some other time...

One more thing I've notice on your angelina... Because of the wide FOV the picture of Angelina with X on her lips the bottom part of her face looks narrower than it really is, so I "your" jaw is little bit narrower than it's supposed to be... maybe I'm wrong

And about texturing... I think the best way is to have map for front and side and the mask to tell where to use which map. I did it on

well, I like yours better. :D

and...about that male head... is it you?
nice.

You gotta be a real A. Jolie fan to say for my image it's her at first. I used simple spline cage so I cant easyly add details to her any more...
You got her lines... Lets switch for models ;)
kidding

No, thats my father... I modeled my self but not yet finished... when still on movie stars, check out my Nicholas Cage on http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?postid=699997#post699997

milosp: hey, cool. you have a good looking father. ;)
and...why don't you convert her into poly and work on details?
or...did you use topology higher than 1?

and your Nicholas looks great:thumbsup:

milosp
07-09-2003, 11:41 AM
Thanks...

Maybe I will, but later. That is a "project on waiting"...
I could convert it but I like when I make clean sline cage and not to have to modify it... maybe its time to learn to work on poly level
