View Full Version : Showing only geometry in a panel.. no highlighted face edges and such stuff
mdi8092 06-30-2003, 01:53 AM How do you set a panel to only show geometry and not other stuff like manipulators, face edges, vertices, etc.. even when an object is selected?
Kind of like a realtime render preview and so you can better see the effects of adjustments you've made in an adjacent panel without the extra clutter from visual "guidance" devices seaparate from actual geometry.

I mean how can you set one panel to exhibit such display characteristics (only geometry) while another panel still does display this type of visual guidance feedback. ie.. not a global display setting.
If you're talking about something else could you elaborate a bit more?

no idea how to do it with only one viewport.

in each panel there is a show button.
use that to hide certain elements.
also use the isolate under the same menu to only show selected faces or verts.

Yeah I was looking around those menu items because those seemed to be viewport specific which is what I desired but I was not able to find a solution.
How do you set a particular viewport to not display extra visual selection feedback items (like those bright green lines around the mesh)? In this way it would be like a quick realtime preview render in one view while actual modeling work is being done in an adjacent view port.

if you go to your settings/preferences and go to display there is a radio check box called wireframe on shaded you can change that to off. so that your object is selected and the bright green mesh is off.
if you want your realtime/actual speed render then right click on the timeline and go to playblast, that isn't interactive, but its a screenshot movie.
hope that helps.
