My first ever airplane model....Im not concentrating a whole lot on the modeling, but instead i just want to get some good texturing work, and an overall good render. Heres what i got so far, the missiles, windshield, and a few other things still need a lot of attention, but i was wondering how the plane texture looks. Im trying to go for shiny metal, but kinda worn down too, like its been flying for a while. Im not too sure right now if its too shiny, so i wanted some other opinions. Thanks.:D

I'd agree that the model needs a bit of work, just a few touch ups, but thats not what you're interested in is it, so i'll move on. I like the textures, agree that they are slightly too reflective/shiney, but overal very nice.

Thanks! Ill try lowering the reflections and see what that looks like.;)

Another thing you might want to try instead of just lowering the textures is to make an actual map for the reflection channel, with dirty areas reflecting less and more clean areas reflecting more. Also try making sure that your reflections have a falloff channel; that is to say, that the parts of the model which have normals coming towards the camera have less reflection than those with normals pointed away.

Of course, this is coming from someone who can't UV map to save his life...

Keep up the good work though!
