Hi peoples,
This is the first time I dare to post here so please be gentle. This picture is a WIP of my second car ever. I love cars and my first was done by following a tutorial.
This car is the result of all studying of 3dmax so far I have done. I start with a plane 1x1 and work from there. no rhino used.
Pure 3dmax.
The first stage is done, the outside is roughly done. From here I will cut the model in logical pieces, door, trunk, hood etc and detail part by part making the chassis fit with the part etc.
Texturing will take antoher great while, if people are interested I am willing to post WIP pictures once in a while. I dont have a lot of time to work on models sadly enough.
The time that went into this model i roughly estimate to be around 20 hours now. Polycount is somewehre around 90.000 smoothed.

Well, you still need work on it.
(Sharp edges, holes in model...)

Patching holes and editing the separate pieces. Worked on the hood today and fixing the edges around it.
Tomorrow I might fix the headlight and the rest of the front part.

Damn, why do people here have to be so skilled? :surprised

I mean, you say this is your second car model, with this level of quality? :D

Even though the mesh is somewhat 'unstable' in places, it looks great otherwise.

Keep it up! :scream:

Another image, I have started texturing this model. So far I never textured a model otherwise then slapping some standard materials on it.
This time I am using maps and map channels, uvw maps etc etc. I am having a blast and learning a lot on the 3dmax and photoshop side.

The render is a HDRi render from Brazil, low AA etc since it is a wip, only took 5 mins to render at 1600x1200 then scaled down to this size for web purposes.

Expect more updates here or maybe even in the finished gallery..

Walkerz, please stop posting messages in peoples threads asking them for their models.

It is ok Leigh, I upped this model to TurboSquid and gave it a price of 10$, then they reviewed it themselves and upped to price to 50$ ... so if you want it Walker... go ahead and get it.
I dont think there is any modeller out there who spends months and months and then just gives their models away.

So either cough up the bucks or get learning to do it yourself.
