To me, the focus of this picture is not the Forge-bot, but the place he is leaving. The painting is fleshed out in the area where the robot is coming from, and the other side is almost empty aside from the character. I interpret this as the character is leaving a place he knows so well and loves, and is going out into the unknown.

Just a suggestion: I don't know if this is your final design for the character, but I think his legs/wheels are way too small. I can barely tell what they are in this picture. If you could make them bigger somehow by let's say, giving him tank-like treads on each leg and making them go out a bit wider, that might give his lower half a bit more beef.

Then again, maybe scrawny legs are what you're going for. In that case, just "flesh" them out a bit more.

Great image, wonderful style Chris. I like how you've worked the color in this piece, bathing his home in warm, inviting light, making the outside world around it look foreboding.
