hi all, i wonder what is happen with darf/cidertank. once he said about oneplugin once a week will emerge on his site.

does anybody has news on the following jenna parts. i would be so happy to get allie2 and the rest at least of the updated jenna parts. ( i own jenna1.0 and bought the progressive update).

well i am sure darf is hard on working/coding, although it would be nice to hear a realistic timeframe for the next parts.
when can we approxmeatly expect the next updated part?

thanks for info!

cheers

If you want an answer from the source, why don't you write him an e-mail?

I am sure nobody here can give you an answer better than darf's own.
Be sure to tell us what you find out ;)

Howdy all!

I had responded to a similiar thread a few weeks back here in these halls, but I will update that now. First, I have been working very hard on JENNA as well as the architecture surounding it. The fact that all of the plugins from cidertank support the BluntTrauma and RACHE parameter architecture is HUGE. This is where most of my time has been spent.

Once JENNA, PRALINE, and VELMA are complete I will work on preparing these new tools for the users. Imagine direct access to any parameter of an object, tag, or Xpresso node parameter without ever leaving the editor views. Even an object manager with the ability to change object's hierarchies will be possible.

It's big, but to answer the JENNA question - TWEENER and jSHADER will be released Tuesday ( yes, they are already built, just need to finish docs ). There seems to be a two week ( more or less depending ) span between the JENNA classic update releases. Honestly, this will most likely be the same for GRIDARRAY, MESHARRAY, and ALLIE. Once they are complete the game changes because the new plugins are fairly completed ( as they have been since the beginning of the year ). The span between releases should become quicker.

In respect of my users I have spent some time with a business consultant to make a true business plan. In that meeting we spent many hours discussing the current JENNA package and the majority of user's feelings that the original JENNA package should stay the way it was. The decision was made at this meeting to seperate the JENNA classics and the new plugins ( displaceVIEW, NICKL, and ghosterTAG will stay in JENNA ). The new package is titled LOCO and will include a host of Xpresso nodes, Thinking Particle plugins, and a few plugin objects that are phenominal. This is everything promised and more.

What does this mean for users who purchased the upgrade or the full version of JENNAv2 you might ask? Well, they paid for and will receive both products as each plugin is released ( registration keys will be sent out to all the users who are registered for JENNAv2 for LOCO ). Funny thing about that meeting, the decision was made based on the number of plugins in each package, not the price. The continuation of JENNAv2 sales caused quite a debate. In the end the scope of the plugins was too varied. LOCO is based around XPRESSO and ThinkingParticles, JENNA is object generation. That was the tie breaker.

Best Regards,
darf - cidertank

thanks darf,

sounds good, i will be happy to have jenna and loco:)
i guess it is a good decision to split the big package. it is also good that the people already bought the full jenna 2 still receive
the full package. good luck and thanks for the answer.
cheers

Anyone see any information on the site about Tweener or Jshader, other than the fact that they're available (somewhere somehow)?

I'm lookiing for info myself. Found this on postforum, if it helps.

Darf said the new manual would be up sometime today (Tues).

jShader is a channel shader written to allow JENNA users to access the jTag which is applied to every JENNA object with information about it's parameterized placement and in the case of ALLIE, it allows access to the evaluated texture channels for rendering. It could be used to make your rose petals change color based on a texture map ( if you were duplicating a rose ).
