View Full Version : How to select only the vertex in the front?
When in vertex mode, I marquee a selection to select a group of vertexes. However, some vertexes in the back are also selected. Is there a way where I can just select the vertexes in the front?
Thanks.

Display >> click the option box for Custom Polygon Display>> then turn on Backface culling.
Yes, I turn backface culling on in the Display->Polygons->Backface Culling on. But it still selects the vertexes behind the front vertices. I even turn on the backface culling in the viewport Shading. It doesn't work for me.
Somehow, the vertexes behind where I marquee the selection always unwanted get selected also.

Use the paint selection tool with a low radius.
It works now.
Pyromania - After turning on Backface culling, I have to restart Maya for it to take effect. Thanks.
Sheep Factory - Your method of using Paint Selection Tool with low radius also works. Thanks.
