Light Wrap

I'm not sure what you mean...

Are you talking about having some of the light or environment wrap around your subject or are you referring to something else?

I know how to do this in video/After Effects - so the process is probably similar to photoshop.

I'll look into this and post a tutorial for you. I did a quick google search and came up with light streaks and beams and tons of other stuff - but not light wrap like this: http://maltaannon.com/tutorials/AfterEffects/ceLightWrap/
