View Full Version : character : old man
jushra 06-29-2003, 12:35 AM this is a pic of an old man i'm working on. a couple questions tho, 1. whats the best way to get the back of the head modeled (i'm using maya 4.5, btw)
2.) as far as the inside of the mouth goes, i plan on doing some lip sync, so whats the best way to go about modeling the teeth/gums/inner mouth
thanks

well... it looks like you're going in the right direction with your modeling.
are you working with the poylgon base modeling technique and then converting to SubD or Meshsmoothing the polys?
I don't quite understand why you're having problems with the back of the head(?) just keep building off of what you have and round it in the back. (easy to say huh?)
as far as the mouth goes, just extrude the edges back inward. like how you would do the eyelids.
keep at it!

the back of the head is not really an issue, its just getting it to look right, normally with other characters thats what i do, is i just extrude the edges, but at times it just doesn't seem right.
as far as your question goes, i poly model and meshsmooth
