I've got a project coming up soon that involves comping a building into a photograph. I know that rendering passes will give me the most control and ability to match the 3D matte to the photograph. Will I be able composite these passes in photoshop? The final outcome will be a still. Will I need shake/after effects or something similar?
I intend to shoot the photograph myself, after finding a suitable location. Obviously i'm aiming for photorealism so need an environment map of the surroundings. I've never shot HDR before, but am aware of how to do so. Is a probe necesseray? Can I just shoot multiple exposures of the surrounding environment and process in HDRshop?
