I don't really get it, is this a cg image (the car)?
Can't tell the difference! well done!
It looks so damned real. Incredible.
I don't really get it, is this a cg image (the car)?
I think, the two guys are CG :p
That looks great! awsome render.
I think the dudes blue pants would either reflect more on the car or the car's colour would darken the side of his leg... but it doesn't really matter.

I think you need to take another pic of the guys, looks like the guy in the brown jacket hand was too high in regards to the car, heh he's not even touching it ;) Nice render tho, but I think you need more reflection from the blue jeans as mentioned and the windshield, somehow I think it would reflect the environment more.
Can we see a wire?
06-28-2003, 10:18 PM
Hah, yea, it's odd that the guy is resting his hand on the air :p
But superb render! Nice job! :scream:

I demand a wire =/

Looks like the dude is gonna pat the car to me, so it seems like the picture works. And I would suggest more reflection like the rest.
06-29-2003, 05:19 AM
Are you trying to tell me that the car in that picture DOESN'T exist??? Damn! That's some fine CG, son...mighty fine.
Two things - why is he holding his arm out like that? To give you an idea of where to make the height of the car?
And, can we please see a before picture without the car? A wireframe would be nice too! :)

One nit, though. The lights give it away. Partly because they're white, and partly because they're so visible. It'd be a little more realistic if the lights were off and you could see the chromey reflections in them. :)

quite stunning....can we see a wire please.
06-29-2003, 11:38 AM
More reflections would be nice.
Don't think there is anything wrong with the guy holding his hand above the car. Like he's showing the car's really flat or so. Or petting or protecting it or something. It looks right :)
But the lights don't, as mentioned, they are way too bright,
Superb work tho

This is some awesome modelling, compositing and idea here... :)
Was the guy holding his hand above the car meant to be that way? Or you wanted him to actually tutch the car? If so, you could adjust it in some post work.
Another idea would be to cut out the two guys from the picture, and render them together with the car, to get their reflection on it.
And I agrre with the others about the lamp...
But don't get me wrong, this is an amazing piece of work...

You are no artist. You are just a little pathetic art thief. I happen to know personally the guy who really made this car and this picture.
I wish you all the best and hope you burn in hell.

ok.. Skilled.. I had a look at the last link Nicon posted.. now unless you're name is Marti Miller [the person truly responsible for this picture]
then you've got a lot of explaining to do!! what's the big idea ripping off other people's work??
and considering your profile on CGtalk says you were born in 1986 and Marti Miller is infact 25! sommat doesn't add up.. :thumbsdow :shame:
06-30-2003, 03:15 PM
Like i said, i know mmarti and asked him about it. He said that he didn't post it here so...
06-30-2003, 03:33 PM
Skilled... that aint right man!! surely you must have realised that you'd get rumbled!
do you actually do any CG work?? and did you do this as a 'prank'
06-30-2003, 03:50 PM
skilled u :thumbsdow:annoyed:
i pulled back my positive reply

This is bad, very bad.
Plagiarism should and must not be encouraged.
This person is toying with the forum to see people's reaction or is really silly... or both.
Administrators/moderators might want to delete this thread or keep it somewhere as a reference so that people don't do that again.

The original car HAS been posted here before. FFS I hate rippers.
06-30-2003, 05:43 PM
have you ever considered that that other guy might be the same guy OR that the other guy is a ripper, don't insult skilled if you ain't sure!
I've also seen images of that car before and they were posted by skilled ! with wire's and everything even a vid, so don't insult'm
don't make conclusions 2 fast guys, you ruin a good decent thread that way...
btw great image skilled

i have looked those date of postings:
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1779192 = 4/28/2003
http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46626 = 02-28-2003
so Skilled did post this one first...what i can see....
so if this is really the truth...sorry skilled, really.
06-30-2003, 07:56 PM
What skilled probably posted were those:
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/844581 Submitted by ~mmarti on 10/30/2002
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1341697 Submitted by ~mmarti on 2/18/2003
And if mmarti ripped skills would he have the actual scene of that picture?
Plus as i have mentioned twice already, i know him and he is on the right on that picture. And the place that is on his picture is where i live.
06-30-2003, 08:06 PM
this is really gettin interesting....skilled hasn't said anything to this, and i wonder......i won't say anything to this now...
lil haven't opened his mouth yet...this is scary:hmm:
I don't know who made it, and I'm not gonna get involved in the quest to figure it out, but I just want to say I'm impressed. The car looks awesome and the composite is really well done. The reflections on the car suit the environment and its flat light.
Anyway, well done (to whoever made it)
06-30-2003, 08:15 PM
Yes! I want it. If i had enough money to own this kind of car, i'd buy it right now!:applause:
