View Full Version : Character: Realistic Old man
Cronos 06-28-2003, 05:24 PM Hi all,
this is my character I'm working on. It's the result of two days of work but there's still a lot work to be done:
get rid of symmetry
make the head on the sides wider
increasing the height of the forehead
put the ears more backwards
Nevertheless, I hope you like it.
C&C is welcome. I need this :)

I like it but it's a little too glossy. Tone that down some...

Thanks for your reply. Also because thats a point i forgot. The texturing with shaders will be made when modelling is finished. what you see i standard phong because I can see any irregularities better with speculars.

Oh, okay. Just made it hard for me to see some of the stuff around the eyes which really interests me. One thing, it's a personal taste issue, the jawline near the ear...could look a little sharper I think. Out of curiosity, what program are you using. kind of looks like Maya but then it also looks like Rhino....

If you like I can post a close up of the eye area. Thats no problem.
Oh yes, the jawline. Thats also a point I have to correct. thanks for the hint.
And to your last question: I'm using XSI with subdivision surfaces

AH...that's cool. Yes I'd love a close up of the eyes if it's no trouble. Much of a character is in the eyes and the surface that surrounds them.

nice work but a little too glossy, for modeling it is useful to attach some basic 3 point lightning to see how shadows fall on the face, because i know it from traditional sculpture that its the light that finaly creates the sculpture alive, below is my old man char
keep working you are good!
