Fellow Modelers,

I have gotten my head around modeling the head and the body but am having a problem finding good resources for laying UVs and texturing the face and body. Can anybody recommend a good book, website, or DVD for learning to layout UVs and creating textures especially for the face and body for characters?

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Eric Maslowski over at his forum has a nice series of head modeling tuts that include UVs and texturing. Check it out (http://lounge.ego-farms.com/showthread.php?t=213)
As for the rest of the body my guess is that any character modeling tut DVD should cover the UVs and textures. Have you checked over at gnomon's?

stage-gr,

Thank you for your help and guidance. I have been working my way through the Gnomon stuff. But have found rather limited information regarding the UV/ texture process. I stumbled upon some of Eric's tutorials today and am currently working my through one of them at the moment. So far I have found his process to be incredibly easy to understand and follow. I am wanting to watch all of his tutorials, so thank you for sending me the link. I have placed them on my immediate agenda.

Once again, thank you for your patience, guidance, time, and kindness.

well, after a certain point tutorials only confirm what you've already learned. No point of watching the same process over and over again.
And since we mentioned Gnomon, Ian Joyner (http://kingmob.cgsociety.org/gallery/)has a very interesting UV/texturing tutorial DVD that covers pretty much everything. Here's the link over at Gnomon (http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/dvds/ijo02.html)

glad i helped :)
