reminds me a lot of the bots in matrix, but looks pretty cool though. give us a wire and render the bot in a brighter environment so we can actually see all those nifty details. :D

I don't really think it looks like the matrix squiddies at all, this looks like it would be a lot bigger and has more of a real world squid shape to it
looking ace peter, the only thing I'm not sure about is the two bits that stick out on the underside of the squid, the large rounded lumps, it might just be the angle of the render though:thumbsup:

squindic: doesn't look like matrix suiddies AT ALL? c'mon...
it is not bad at all when it looks a bit like them...
personally i can says that i like that model very much, just curoius, are there four of these yellow round things on suiddies head? and are these supposed to be eyes in some way?
waht are your plans for the environment? maybe some kind of headquarter built in the same style like the squid would be pretty cool, with some volumetric lights shining out of the hq.

hehe nice idea, but i never wanted to model a matrix thing
more something like squdinc did, so i desided to make a squdinc )do you know mike's logo?) not a squiddi, maybe a squddili :wavey:

Hey... thats very cool. Nicely done... you better animate that sucker or we're all gonna be mad :)
2 possibly subjective design ideas...
1. The arms behind the head... (not the long strings but the tentacles) could be about half as long again than they are. They seem a little short/stubby.
2. The head could possibly elongate slightly. More like a bullet.
The head seems a little to rounded and stubby for the overall body design.
Looks great , just thought I would mention the above.

maybe i make the little tentakles a bit bigger

looks sweet PeXel, I'm sure it'll evolve nicely. I recently saw a new species of jelly discovered, 'BIG Red'

love the color.

cool, I really like the eye on the updated image, looks very sinister, what colours are you going with for the final image? a combination of dark metallic shades might look interesting on this monster

sweet, look forward to seeing that
does it have any weapons or tools, or does it attack or manipulate things with its tentacles?

he has a laser in his body to make holes in something :)
here is my first enviroment test

looking great!
You are creating quite a creepy creature there.

lookin' veeeery good! :D maybe you could add a bunch of bubbles behind that thing. so that you get more sens of motion there. hope you understood what i mean. ;)

anybody who knows how to make the bubbles idea?
peety

why should there be bubbles ? ... this is a machine and i think it doesn't breathe ... or is there any air in it which could release ? ... a turbulence of the bubbles in the background would make sense ... in addition you could put some water mines in the background and a (few) destroyed ships
I like it but I think those short tentacle things should be larger and have something to do they look almost useless just sitting there.
also in the finished pic try and have him in a turning pose. So the long tentacles are bent and more whippy looking.
A few thoughts.

i like it a lot :). cool design, and theres a nice touch in your render. something halfway between 3D and 2D. can u give some details about it and the environment ? those rays of light are made with volumetric light or .. ?
oh, and i agree with JIII : a turning pose, maybe showing it coming toward the camera, could give add some dynamic to the pose.

Compression/decompression bublbes. As submarine can create the same stuff. If the thing uses it's tentacles to move around, then chances are there would be small bubbles. But then the creature would really have to MOVE those tentacles real hard (in order to see the bubbles).

maybe i make some small bubbles behind the long tentakles. the smart tentakles are not useless, they can hld my squddili on a ground, where the spikes can't go in :)

ok the bubbles problem is slved, i have it
TP does it :)
here a little update, better bubbles now
now it's time for texturing my squiddili
http://home.arcor.de/c4d-treff/wip3.jpg
becomes more realistic, what do you mean!? :p

  Looks really good Pexel, no crits here. :)
Also, just wanted to let you know that this link:
http://home.t-online.de/home/ph007/campariglas.zip
on your site is dead.
remember those air bubbles should not be round. Air bubbles do look organic in water but not round they are more textured than that.
nice but it doesnt look like a photoreal style more of an illustrated look if you ask me.

I'd have to agree with the turning pose, or at least something a bit more dynamic, this machine looks as though it should really move, but is at the moment somehow staitc. Maybe also a ghost or a hint of another of these creatures or something else in the background to give it a bit of depth as well (just ideas).
Nice work

should this look photorealistic? or just realistic?
i can change this, if necessary

remember the mes is still not textured!

i like the style it has right now, it is realistic, but illustrative, too. keep the style!
pexel your work is great!

Hi peXel, really nice pic and underwater-scenery.
Just one little crit: bubbels of that size are not spheres, they are irregularly flattened.
cheers,
Gunter
