Hello, I'm a newish artist to the digital world (and not that very good overall I think) and I was hoping to get critique and help to make my art great.

With my first pic, I like what I did with the moon (shading wise) and Saturn is a piece of goo stuck into the sky. I'm not sure how to fix Saturn so it might be replaced with something more extraordinary.

I was trying to work with fog/cloud/lighting. I had no idea that a good brush makes all the difference.

The moon looks really good in the first one. Your shading style gives it a 3-dimensional "stuffed" appearance, like it is quilted almost...You should draw more images with that shading technique.

I like the fog effect, too. some nice translucency.

Thanks, there was a Newscast with a picture of the Vancouver skyline like that. IT WAS AWESOME!

Rather than having Saturn goo I thought I would work on the crazy observatories concept that I've always had:

I like your style it is very painterly, one of the things you can never really get from a mouse. I think sometimes it is good to go with more sweeping strokes and then "noodle" down and go in tight covering up previous marks and unnecessary strokes with cover up colors. if that makes sense.

If you can include that wild sky, I would. Like the moon, your stroke style makes it almost subtlely undulate and shimmer in a 3d manner.

It's really a unique sketching style. You should definitely do more!

Or add the blue shimmering mist ;)

TO HELL WITH OBSERVATORIES!

They just were not working for me >_<

Let's try a tree! (Yes, that is still THE SAME MOON)
