--->EDIT Updates in posts below.<---

This started out as a picture in my head, I didn't use any blueprints cos they fry my brain. Wheels are from another project, modeled and rendered in Blender 2.25. Total time 6-7 hrs. Modeled using quads and subsurfs. Oh and I think it looks like a Morris Minor.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

strange proportions, but nice :)

IMO the chrome needs more reflection and specularity, the rubber of the spare wheel is too shiny.

keep going :wavey:

zeromancer1972, thanks for the feedback. The proportions are off cos I have no reference images. I shall endeavour to tweak the chrome, tyres should be better now but I need to sort the mapping completely. Changed colour scheme too.

Can anybody offer some constructive critism? This is only the second car I have made from scratch, I know it's not up to much in comparison to the cars that are usually posted here but any suggestions would be greatly recieved.

Thanks,

Sonix.

I notice that the car is very short, when usually a car of such styles have greater length. I'm not sure if you're going for 'retrofuturistic' look or 'orthodox vintage' look, but either way it looks too short IMO.

I can't really think of any other problem, because I like the style of this vehicle ;)

Good luck and keep it up!

I can't myself see anything about this that has anything remotely to do with the Morris Minor other than it has four wheels and so wonder why you called it so...It looks more like some personalised design. On that level it's still a bit hard to assess because it appears to give some clues as to what it is aiming for but not the whole story so to speak. It kinda looks like it might fit (very well) within a bigger heavily stylised framework... i.e characters, sets etc but doesn't quite seem to have the legs to stand on it's own to me. :)

You are right, it does sort of come across as a cut and shut, that got shut too short. Me at 6 foot 7" tall as well, should have thought about that one really.

I like the idea of a 'retrofuturistic' look or 'orthodox vintage' look, but as xynaria kindly pointed out, I probably need character's or an enviroment that warrants the look.

I called it Morris Minor, because I couldn't think of anything it resembled more. It sort of has the bonnet of an old Ford truck, I guess, but it was a creation straight out of my head rather than a finely copied design from blues.

Hmm I'm going to have to get over my aversion to using blueprints I think.

Thankyou both for the comments, I really appreciate it.

Sonix.
