View Full Version : Toxic_warrior
Ed Lee 06-28-2003, 08:36 AM I sketched this between render que. The concept is a warrior guarding a waste dump full of toxic-filled barrels. I may paint this in the near future. But, it's in sketch form for now. Comments are welcome.

That sketch is of the heezy. If you have any sketches of this character in more of a standing position, i would love to model some of your work. Keep it up!!!
Always nice to see some new sketches from you Ed. The concept is great, although I don't understand the value of toxic waste. To each his own, I guess. :D
The only thing that strikes me as odd (other than his love for the aforementioned goo) is his right leg. I mean his left leg gives me the impression that he's sitting on a low mound of trash or something, but the right leg is hanging. Like it's perched on the edge of a cliff and the foot is over the side. Know what I mean?
It'd be kinda' humorous if he had both legs out and the nuzzle of his gun was resting on the ground in front of him. It'd give the impression that he's been assigned this duty for something he may have done wrong. This would be like the worst guard duty assignment ... who would want to steal toxic waste?
That despair and depression needs to be communicated in his body language (slumped shoulders, relaxed, not expecting a threat). Just an idea ...
I still love the armor design. The boots, helmet, gun, everything looks solid!

Nice concept Ed. You should do full color, regular painting of this IMO ;) And I second Kirt's comments about his stance and mood ;)

good god lee.
i know this reply dont mean anything, i was thinking last night after view a thread with like 5 pages of replies that all basically say great work. there really isnt a point to seeing how many people can reply back to you saying the same thing. but i truly think you have great talent, i cant imagaine what that factory is going to look like. but im really excited now, this pic is one of my favorites on cgtalk so far as is. so i cant wait. have you thought of like adding some low fog? i think that could look really good. man thats great coloring. i was just looking at the face. wow thats great.

Great stuff as always, Ed.
Something looks strange about his right leg (our left). It doesn't seem to be coming out of the body correctly. I would move it to the left in the picture a bit. My two cents..
btw, if you need some inspiration for the pumping station,

Make no mistake please, I am not the esteemed Mr. Waylon. But he has let the EatPooer's use his pics as "inspiration" before (I'm pretty sure).
