I've been doing the mini-challenges over at GameArtisans for the last 6 months or so and they're a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to them as much as the the main event! But it's going to be a blast for the whole thing. :D

I got a question :)

I never really made characters in 3D but I do have a great concept.
I want to know if its good to join this contest even if you skills isn't high like the other artist?
Of course I will learn allot by doing things by myself, but its a good place to get good feedback/critic or its more "look at my skills" and here is my w.i.p.?

I want to join to have fun and learning allot :)

I want to join to have fun and learning allot :)Dominance War is about winning prizes, yes, but it's even more about learning and becoming a better artist. This means that there's a great feeling of community involvement whenever a DW happens and there are dozens of people who go through threads on all the participating forums and leave feedback. It's even more useful for people who are just starting out than for those who've done a lot of game characters because new people will get tons of information from professionals and amateurs alike.

I'd say you should give it a shot. If you don't think your skills are up to snuff, that doesn't matter. It'll be a tremendous learning experience and you can always give it another go next time around.

I'm definitely going to be entering this year. The last couple of times, I was still learning a lot and I didn't have a computer that would let me really see what my models would look like in real time. Now that I have better hardware and my skills have improved a little, I think I'm going to have a better time of it. I'm really excited to see what the theme is going to be; I can't wait to start drawing up concepts.

hay guys .. this is sachin nagar.. i have to take advice regarding a thing .. the image that has been shown in the dominance war challange , the poster image , is actually too srtikingly similar to the image that i had created about a year ago .. this image is posted on my blog on may 2008 under the name "Deamon King" .. and i had created this image well six months befoe i posted it on my blog ..
"artzmyhabbit.blogspot.com". I m preety amused .. i take nothinga away from the illustration that the artist did but i can not help myself to bring it to somebody's attention who can advice me .. the thing is i have actually started to colour this image and i was going to post it in cg society for consideration .. now even if i do it will be considered as the copy of image in dominance war .. kindly advice if u can http://bp2.blogger.com/_8Or7e2VjArU/SCby9vSE9II/AAAAAAAAAAM/2s4IwvnS75M/s1600-h/2.jpg

I was wondering when we can get a look at the rules for the competition. Will they get posted here, or on the DW site? TKS!

Is the contest for both 2d and 3d artists? I mean is there a separated category for posting the images for digital painting or 3d artwork similar to CG Challenges?

I'm so excited! Can't wait to finally get my ideas on paper. I've been waiting for this since DWIII ended and the character I'm going to make is in my mind for months, waiting to go to War !
This is going to be the first competition for me and I want to learn a lot during DW4.
Hope to see you there!

Do the rules for the challenge come out the day it starts. Would seem logical, but I’d like to get a head start…he!

Is the contest for both 2d and 3d artists? I mean is there a separated category for posting the images for digital painting or 3d artwork similar to CG Challenges?

There were separate contest last year from what I saw on the DW site (little smaller prize for 2d). www.gameartisans.org you should take a look it gives you a better idea of what its all about…get in the spirit of the whole thing.
Big hug to all!
