View Full Version : warehouse.. type... thing
Kelly.Schubert 06-27-2003, 08:30 PM This is definately WIP, but I thought I'd get some thoughts. It's losely based on one of the warehouses from the opening sequence of Blade Two. Just started on the lighting, and still need to finish of the texturing, add a bump. all that good stuff. Plus, there some crates I need to throw in, and also a table with vodka glasses on it. Thoughts? Anyone? Be nice, but not too nice. Need some different points of view on this.

I've been goofing around with this for most of the night, and all I've really done is lighten it up a bit. Fun times.

well, you seem to be on the right track, you said you are going to fill up the scene, that's good. Also, you need some work on the wooden table. It's too smooth, it needs more work. Also, on the left wall, there seems to be a light source lighting up a part of the wall, what's up with that?

The light source just got cut off in the second render. You can see it in the first one. And yes, the wooden table has already been trashed since that render. Better things are a comin'.

As you can see, I trashed the table. Don't model late at night when you aren't thinking boys and girls. I've pulled the camera back a bit for this one. This scene is actually about 5 or 6 times as long as you can see here, but I haven't really finished the rest yet. It'll end with whistler in a the vat of blood. If you haven't seen the movie, then don't worry about it.

i would just take down the specular bloom on your lights. i think it would work for your scene, but its just overkill.

I like these kinds of scenes....but i think you need to brighten things up a bit, especially the left corner of the room. I know its probably a dark scene in the movie, but i think it would help bring out the details if it was lighter. Because there is not many objects in the scene i think you should add lots of details to the walls, floor and ceiling...how about some chipped paint, and some more specular highlights to help make the room look old and grungy. Im guessing all that red on the floor is blood....so unless its fresh, i think it should be darker in color, and the texture doesnt seem right....it looks too bumpy. The floor could use some more dirt, cracks, and by adding some specularity it could look like some grease here and there....also it would remove some of the dark areas of the ground by reflecting the light. Hope my comments helped!:D

Yeah, I'm a bit torn on whether or not to lighten it up a bit. I really prefer it dark, but at the same time, I want to show off the walls. I still dont' know what to do. The red stuff on the floor is blood, but that's just there as a test basically. The floor is just in the beginning stages.
Thanks for the comments guys. Please keep em coming.
