I have a light with an op-fx glow attached. My problem is that the glow is not obscured by objects that pass in front of it. When I place the light completely inside geometry the glow is still completely visible after the render/postprocess. How can I avoid this? The opacity is set to '0' on the glow.:bounce: . :wip: .

well i know maya does that cause its an post operation thus itss allways be on top,... the soution to the problem is simple but a tad tedious if u have too many things passing in front of the glow...

what u need to do is to turn the glow back to 0 when it goes in front and back to ur setting when its back again visible... sort of like on off... off on... (but with the glow intensity)

hope that helps...
sincerely

after you created the light glow for your light there is a sphere around the light (default: brown color).
if you scale that one down the light glow will disappear behind objects.

 DUDE! Alexx, Thanks man! I wish I would have known this a year ago, I've been doing it the way alx suggested or just straight compositing it. Why isn't this documented by A/W?:shame:

hehe :)

i think it was documented once. i think i read it in the 1.0 manuals. there is some stuff that did not do it in higher manual versions..
