View Full Version : "Baking" Animated Poser objects in C4D
Other3DMaster 06-27-2003, 07:32 PM I'm currently using CuriousLabs C4D plug-in to "host" rigged figures in Cinema 4D. I'm wondering if there is anyway to convert this hosted data, so that the figure and animated rig become a permanent part of the .c4d file. I understand that it would be uneditable at that point, but that's okay. I want to be able to share scene files of mine with others who use Cinema 4D without having to worry if they have the plug-in, not to mention the poser file.
Thanks...

ePLA plugin. Imports a sequence of exported obj's from Poser.
Another solution is to animate the character completely in Cinema. You move everything into Cinema. Using the new C4D Poser plugins from Dave Mathews. Cr2Loader package. A great plugin, and a good deal, for what it does. (I bought it 2 weeks ago, when it first came out).

Acme,
How much editing do you have to do on the weight maps?

I assume you are asking about the Greenbriar plugin since the ePLA plug does not handle weightmaps.
With Cr2Loader you get weightmaps that match the bone effect area in Poser. If it sucks in Poser you will have to touch it up in C4D. If it suits you fine in Poser, you are all set. The point is; this plug frees you from the chains and shakles of Poser's crappy interface and lack of professional tools. Think of Poser as a model "Repository" for Cinema, now, thanks to Cr2Loader.
