Some of you may already know about this, but I walked into my local bookstore today and found...

"Tricks of the 3D game programming Gurus - Advanced 3D graphics & rasterization" by Andre Lamothe.

...this book is basically Volume II to his first which had the subtitle "Fundamentals of 2D & 3D game programming".

To use the books you must know C or C++. For me they are the final word in learning games programming.

I hope this will be of use to my fellow CGTalkers...

Dont forget to mention that this is an advanced book. Knowledge of OpenLG / DirectX and Windows programming is assumed.

So it maybe a little out of reach for someone who isnt familar with those topics.

Re: Kid Mesh.

Well, actually its API independant. Andre had multi-platforms in mind.

He pretty much says "if the API has a dot-to-screen function, and recieve input, then you're able to use this knowledge to make a SOFTWARE 3d engine...".

I was pretty pissed when I found out the book didn't cover Direct3D or OpenGL.

But I would recommend a bit of C or C++ programming before taking on this titanic book.
