View Full Version : How to setup a ISO 30/60 Camera
TapioKa 06-27-2003, 06:20 PM Hi There,
Does anyone know how to setup an Isometric camera in max?
I know how to make a 45 degree isometric camera, but how to make a 30/60 degree isometric camera?
The easiest method is what I'm looking for.
Any tips are always appreciated.
Thanks!:)

Create a Free Camera. Use the checkbox Orthographic Projection. Rotate it 30 degrees.
Is this what you want?

Unfortunately,
I don't think so. I tried it and it did not work.
For a 45 degree isometric, it's simple as it 45/45 like the diagonal line across a cube.
For 30/60 it's a diagonal line of a rectangular box. But I'm not sure what the distances would be.
The center of my camera target is world center.

Hmm, don't understand you. Wish I did, always looking to learn.
WHy not align the camera position to the center of your subject, then rotate it? An ortho camera fov can be adjusted to display a wider view of the scene.
Are you saying the angle that the view is pointing in is what you need? Or a set distance from your subject? Isometric=no distance right? Do you mean the view plane (the far end of the frustum) needs to be rectangular?
Can you post a diagram or link to a paper on it?
