i was thinkin' about migrating to Linux as my primary OS for maya. anyone out done this? if so, how is it working out for you? any feedback would be great.

i also had this thought and tryed maya 3.01 on linux. on the same machine it was faster on NT .... on the OpenGl side as well as while rendering.
thats pretty strange to me, ok, maybe the drivers werent that good (my card was officially supported) but getting renders up to 10% slower on the same machine..... strange.
hope this was just because of the first-maya-for-linux.
would like to have an alternative fo windows.

i was on alias's website and they're already shipping maya 4 for linux. i dont how much faster it is than its predecessor but would love to find out.

let me know if u got any info on this.
